Erica Nego is a model and business woman. A lot has been said about her and her career but here’s ten things you didn’t know about her:
- Her full name is Erica Yayra Nego
- She was born in 1984 which makes her 33 years old
- Erica was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the United States of America which makes her a citizen of the country but she is also a Ghanaian citizen i.e. she has dual citizenship
- At 12 years old, Erica was signed to Ford Modeling Agency
- She has a history with beauty pageants; she was elected as Miss Minnesota USA 2009, she also competed at Miss USA 2009 placing in the top 15 at the competition. She also competed at Miss Universe 2011 in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011. She was elected as Miss Universe Ghana 2011.
- Apart from being a beauty queen, she is also a model and a businesswoman.
- Despite her dual citizenship of the USA and Ghana, Yayra has German, Ghanaian and Persian ancestry.
- She co-owns Style and Grace, a Plymouth-based modern pageantry and etiquette academy with fellow model, Ashley Hawks.
- Miss Nego belongs to a royal family in Ghana. She went to Ghana at 3 months every year as a child.
- Erica throws coins in a penance jar on the rare occasion she lets a swear word out.
