The Youth Organising Secretary of the All Progress Congress (APC) Lagos State, Aregbe Idris has urged all youths to uphold their commitment to the progress and development of the Lagos State and Nigeria, regardless of their political preferences or positions.
Speaking at a youth forum with the youths and stakeholders on the affairs of the state, he tasked them to make ambassadors of whatever environment they find themselves in order to spread the visions of the party’s governorship candidate Babajide Sanwo-Olu and those of the president and his vice.
Aregbe said, “With our collective efforts I am in no doubt that we can make a formidable impact in the forthcoming elections by fetching the party support and votes needed in continuing the change project that we have begun.”
He emphasised that variety of committees will be established with the aim of easing and dispersing communication and to bring in the youths into the fold, which will likewise serve as a mode of political participation and socialisation.
The Youth Organising Secretary who doubles as Director Youth and Student Affairs Presidential Support Committee reiterated that the mandate before his office still stands, and that he is fully committed to bringing more people on board the APC train which is set on achieving the visions of the party.
He further promised that with their cooperation and united efforts they can help bring the party over 1.5 million votes than the quota acquired in the last elections of 2015.
Aregbe also spoke on the programmes that have been put in place for implementation ahead of the elections. Pledging support for President Buhari’s second term bid with ‘I AM BETTER WITH BUHARI’ campaign, ‘SANWO DE EKO YO,’ ‘A PARTY CARES (APC)’ and ‘AGAIN PEOPLE CONVERGE’ for change initiatives are also part of the brainchild programmes the office is spearheading to support the party ahead of the 2019 general elections.
He further hailed the TRADER MONI initiative launched by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo and appreciated the effort and dedication put forth by the government to ensure national development and progress.
Adding that the convergence won’t be futile, he welcomed fresh input and ideas that can help speed up the process to bring a greater Lagos and a better Nigeria for all.
