CG-NSCDC orders speedy investigation into attack on VIO officers
The Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, has ordered a speedy and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack on the men of Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) by officers of the Corps.
The incident occurred at kugbo slope area of Abuja on Tuesday.
While the investigation is on-going on the matter, the CG has temporarily suspended the officers involved, seized their vehicle, and detained the driver, and assured that everything humanly possible will be done to ensure that justice prevails in the case.
Mr Gana’s remark is contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Media Aide, Ekunola Gbenga.
The Commandant General therefore apologizes to management and men of VIO and assured them of the Corps maximum cooperation and support in discharging their constitutional duties.

Buratai Seeks Defence Ministry’s Support for Training Army Personnel Oversea
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, has sought for the support of the Ministry of Defence for the training of Army personnel abroad, saying this will go a long way in strengthening the capacity of military officers.
He said the training will focus on operational capacity building, force sustainment and intelligence and analysis. Lt. Gen. Buratai made the appeal when he hosted the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Defence, Mr Babangida Husseini, who visited him at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.
The Army Chief emphasised the need for the continuous training and re-training of army personnel for them to be able to tackle the current security challenges facing the nation. On his part, Husseini, promised to provide necessary support for the Nigerian Army, together with its officers and men.
He said upon resumption of office, he started working towards putting in place the right policy framework that will help to position the Defence Ministry. He, therefore, called for a continuous synergy between their Ministry and the Army, for a robust and constructive engagements.
