For Nigerian citizens to experience real development, Ogun State Governor ibikunle Amosun has said that the country needs to be restructured as the country remained an entity built on fraudulent federalism the way it was presently structured.

According to the governor, the nation’s revenue allocation formula was disproportionate, saying what goes to the centre compared to what comes to the state should be reviewed.

The governor was speaking at a commemorative lecture for the 2016 Democracy Day organised by the state council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at the Iwe Irohin Press Centre, Abeokuta.

Delivering the lecture entitled, “Democracy in Nigeria, the gains, the pains: Ogun example,” Governor Amosun urged Nigerians to continue to refine the current democratic experiment.

The governor who was represented on the occasion by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Taiwo Adeoluwa, accompanied by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Otunba Dayo Adeneye, called for the implementation of the recommendations of the National Conference held during the regime of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
